Colborn Builders have returned to the St Andrew’s site to complete the work carried out last year. They are placing the final few coping stones around the church and centre and then applying the lime render. They’ve been unable to carry out this work during the winter, as that particular render is damaged by frost. The double doors into the centre will be out of action for a day as the coping stones above it are replaced. We are now launching a fund towards the second layer of building repairs, aiming to replace the upper level of coping stones which are rapidly disintegrating. The frontage of St Andrew’s is looking so much better, brighter and well cared for, as well as reducing the number of leaks into the church and outer offices. We’re enormously grateful to the tireless work of our outgoing church warden, John Armitage, who has overseen this much needed project.
