Chaplaincy at St Andrew’s Centre

We’re excited to let you know about a new initiative for St Andrew’s. A member of our church family, Annette Jones, is starting a year-long course at Waverley Abbey on Contemporary Chaplaincy. As a part of her course she’s required to carry out a placement and has chosen St Andrew’s for this. Annette says, “I’m excited to have started the Contemporary Chaplaincy course and am really looking forward to the placement in the Church Centre, Coffee House and wider community.  I pray it will be another great opportunity to reach out to our community with the love of Christ.” This will mean having access to a Chaplaincy presence in our centre for the 2000 people who come through each week, as well as the potential to grow existing links with our local community. We’ll also be looking to build a team of people based in the Foyer at St Andrew’s to offer a welcoming smile and a listening ear. This team will be able to refer people to the Chaplaincy or other suitable support. This ties in with our theme of Shining Brightly for Jesus this year and with our refreshing of the Foyer from the Easter Gift Day.
